Sustainability Isn’t Optional. It’s Standard.
Every ContainerSolutions home is engineered for efficiency from day one — not as an upgrade, not as an add-on. From insulation to solar to smart systems, sustainability is how we build, not how we market.
Built Efficient. Built to Last.
ContainerSolutions starts with a material advantage: repurposed Corten steel — one of the most structurally sound and environmentally responsible building materials available. That foundation means less new manufacturing, less waste, and a structural shell that outlasts conventional framing by decades.
Every system installed on top of it is chosen for long-term efficiency: closed-cell spray foam insulation, mini-split HVAC, ERV fresh air ventilation, and a solar and battery storage system that covers the full energy load on Core40 and Flow80 models.
Sustainability that works every day — without the ongoing cost.
Every Component Earns Its Place
Four systems. Every model. No upgrades needed.
Solar and Battery Storage. Standard.
Core40 and Flow80 models include a fully integrated solar and battery storage system — not as an upgrade, as a standard component. The system is designed for hybrid operation: generate your own power, store what you don’t use, and maintain grid connection as a backup. For the right sites and setups, full grid independence is achievable.
This system provides true hybrid operation capabilities, pairing active battery storage with a robust inverter. This allows you to generate, store, and consume energy efficiently, offering optional full grid independence and resilience during utility failures.
- 3.28 kW solar panel array — Core40 and Flow80 standard
- 10.24 kWh LiFePO₄ battery storage (2 batteries, standard config)
- Hybrid inverter — manages solar generation, battery storage, and grid connection
- Designed for grid-connected efficiency; configurable for full energy independence on qualifying sites
Built Once. Built Right.
Corten steel doesn’t degrade the way mild steel does — it forms a stable patina that actively slows further corrosion. It’s been used in marine environments and demanding industrial applications for decades. ContainerSolutions homes add a 3-layer corrosion protection system on top of that, 14-gauge structural walls, and a multi-layer exterior coating engineered for extreme weather and high-wind conditions.
A home built to last 50+ years isn’t just more sustainable. It’s a better investment.
Smart Systems. Less Waste.
Every ContainerSolutions home runs Home Assistant Green — an open-source, local-first platform that gives you full control of your home’s systems without cloud dependency, without subscriptions, and without a single point of failure tied to a third-party server.
Sustainability Extends Beyond the Home
Every ContainerSolutions home is designed to minimize environmental impact — repurposed Corten steel, high-efficiency systems, and a solar and battery package that dramatically reduces grid dependency over the life of the home.
And through the Home to Table program, every home sold generates a $5,000 donation to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Because sustainable communities need more than energy-efficient housing.
This is what a broader approach to sustainability looks like in practice.
